Kotmale

Sri Lanka’s largest privately held fresh milk brand

The "Kotmale" brand is a leading brand in the dairy sector recognized for highest quality products at an affordable price. The brand since its launch has garnered mass appeal for its delicious range of dairy ice cream as well as pasteurized milk, yoghurt, fresh cream, ghee, curd and fruit drinks.
It is Kotmale that successfully transformed the ice-cream industry by integrating its production chain with dairy farmers of Sri Lanka. With this success, it was time for Cargills to take-on the Dairy industry which led to the birth of Kotmale.
Cargills commenced this journey by acquiring Kotmale Holding, which was then owned by a leading family in Sri Lanka. Today, Cargills has transformed, what was then a ordinary dairy company to become Sri Lanka’s largest privately held fresh milk brand.
Kotmale Holdings PLC is a public listed subsidiary of Cargills Quality Foods. Established in 1967 as Lambretta (Ceylon) Ltd, its early beginnings can be traced back to the cool climes of Bogahawatte, Patana (Upper Kotmale), also known as the beautiful Kotmale valley.
